Beef Spiedie Sandwich
Serves 4
Share your great taste!
Originating from Binghamton, N.Y., this relatively unknown grilled kabob sandwich is so simple and delicious it’s headed for more notoriety than the Big Apple!
Ingredients:
2 pounds
Certified Angus Beef
®
sirloin steaks, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 packet Italian salad dressing seasoning (.7-ounce)
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar, divided
4 (8-inch) skewers
1/4 cup mayonnaise
4 hoagie buns
Instructions:
Combine sirloin cubes with 3-teaspoons Italian salad dressing powder, 1-tablespoon olive oil and 2-teaspoons balsamic vinegar. Marinate at least two hours, overnight preferred.
Combine mayonnaise with remaining 2-teaspoons salad dressing powder, remaining 1-tablespoon olive oil and remaining 1-teaspoon balsamic vinegar.
Skewer cubed beef and grill over high heat for 6 minutes, rotating to sear all sides of beef cubes; allow skewers to rest 5 minutes. While grill is still hot, toast cut side of buns (optional).
Spread seasoned mayonnaise mix on the inside of each bun. Place one skewer in each bun, and holding sandwich in one hand, remove skewer with the other hand.
