Community

Relationships are at the heart of our business, and building better communities starts by encouraging our own team members to create meaningful, positive changes. We know a supportive atmosphere, with a holistic approach to wellness, allows passion and purpose to flourish. Working together, we can contribute meaningfully to the larger brand and beef communities’ goals.

Focusing on Employees’ Holistic Health

A workplace that supports and encourages employees’ healthy habits is one that helps them nurture their own families and communities, says Alicia Belmont, health and wellness coordinator for Certified Angus Beef LLC. “People are the heart of our business, from our family farmers to our employees – so it’s natural for us,” she explains. The company, recently recognized for the third year by the Healthy Business Council of Ohio, offers a holistic approach to wellness: physical, social, emotional, financial and intellectual.

Next Generation

We empower and educate tomorrow’s pioneers by connecting them with today’s leaders. Given the tools and support to pursue their passions, young ranchers, beef professionals and chefs can ensure the entire beef community remains relevant in the future and poised for growth.

Next Generation of Ranchers Looks Ahead

“Being raised in agriculture, I really wouldn’t want to have it any other way,” says Elizabeth Forker, the sixth generation on her family’s eastern Nebraska farm. “From an early age, those values of hard work and determination were instilled in me, and I carry them with me today.” Despite the challenges that come along with raising livestock, Forker, and other young farmers and ranchers, agree that this way of life is one to be treasured and preserved.

Cattle Care

Not just a responsibility, but fundamental to our values and inherent in our character. We connect leaders and experts from gate to plate, helping them understand and implement the leading practices necessary to deliver high quality beef. We count on all members of the beef community to uphold the highest level of care.

Shared Values Unite Chefs, Farmers

The Angus cattle raised by Joe and Robin Hampton of Mt. Ulla, N.C. “have it pretty nice,” notes Joe, with a smile. “We care for these cattle every day of the year. We care for them on the hottest day in August, we care for them on the coldest day here in December. We don’t get to choose which days we have cattle. We have cattle every day of the year, and we like that.”

Environment

Resources should be used mindfully, and everyone can contribute to positive change and a brighter future. As members of the beef community, it’s our privilege and responsibility to take good care of the land on which our livelihoods and community rely. We also support the conservation efforts of others in the beef community.

Ranching in Challenging Landscapes

From coast to coast, each region offers a unique combination of climate and terrain, some more hospitable than others. Yet, even on unforgiving landscapes, farmers are able to grow nutrient-rich, delicious food on land not suitable for growing crops: by raising premium Angus cattle. From the arid desert east of Phoenix to the steeply-inclined, heavily-forested ground of western Montana, Angus ranchers have found purpose and success with the particularly adaptive animals.

Those committed to the Angus breed, through the American Angus Association® and the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, know these pillars well. Together, they yield leadership. Our ranchers, employees and partners work to set and exceed these standards by giving our best. Our livelihoods and consumer satisfaction depend on it. In short: we take our responsibilities seriously and, in this way, we do more than raise Angus. We raise standards.
