How To Prepare the Best Angus Beef (or How To Prepare Beef)

Grilling

  • preheat grill and season generously
  • oil grates to prevent sticking
  • avoid overcooking
  • check doneness with thermometer
  • rest before serving

Braising

  • preheat on medium high and sear both sides
  • add vegetables and cook until browned
  • add tomato paste, red wine stock, broth or fresh water
  • cover and cook 6 to 8 hours at 300F

Pan-Searing

  • preheat on medium high and sear both sides
  • add vegetables and cook until browned
  • add tomato paste, red wine stock, broth or fresh water
  • cover and cook 6 to 8 hours at 300F

Roasting

  • preheat oven to 450F
  • add kosher salt and black pepper to the roast
  • roast for 15 minutes at 450F
  • check doneness with thermometer
  • tent with foil and rest for 10-15 minutes

Stir Fry

  • slice the meat thin against the grain
  • add salt and pepper along with scallions and red chilis
  • heat oil, remember not to crowd the pan
  • stir constantly 2-3 minutes

Broiling

  • place oven rack 5 inches from the heating element
  • add oil, salt and pepper to the meat and place on a broiling pan
  • flip when juices rise to the surface of the meat
  • check desired doneness with thermometer
  • once doneness is reach, take and let rest for 5 minutes

Pan Roasting

  • preheat pan on high
  • add oil, salt and pepper
  • sear meat on all sides
  • transfer the pan to a preheated oven at 325F

Smoking

  • season generously then refrigerate 12 hours
  • heat smoker at 225F for 30 minutes
  • place brisket in smoker and smoke for 6 to 8 hours
  • add wood during the first 6 hours until the brisket is at least 160F, take from smoker and wrap in foil once temperature is reached
