Beef Skewers

Marinate top round steak strips, mushrooms, and pineapple with a simple balsamic marinade to make delicious Beef Skewers for a budget-friendly cookout.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Certified Angus Beef ® boneless top round steak
  • 1 1/4 cups balsamic vinaigrette, divided
  • 1/4 cup Lea & Perrins® Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 cups pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, well-drained)
  • 2 cups mushrooms (crimini or white button)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 12 metal or wooden skewers (soak wooden skewers in water for half an hour before using)

Instructions:

  1. Trim fat from top round steak and slice into thin strips (cut against the grain; approximately 1/4 inch); place in zipper-locking plastic bag. Combine 3/4 cup of balsamic vinaigrette and Worcestershire sauce and pour over steak strips. Seal bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In separate bowl, combine pineapple and mushrooms and use remaining 1/2 cup balsamic vinaigrette to marinate.
  3. Thread on skewer in order: 1 mushroom; 1 pineapple chunk; 1 steak strip; 1 pineapple chunk; 1 mushroom. Grill over medium high heat approximately 3 minutes per side to desired doneness.
  4. Discard any remaining meat marinade; serve any leftover pineapple and mushroom mixture on a bed of Romaine lettuce if desired.
