Serious size beef poppers with big flavors thanks to chipotle peppers and cheddar cheese. No deep fried mess, either. These are made in an air fryer.

  • 1 pound Certified Angus Beef ® ground beef, 80% lean
  • 2 slices white bread, crust removed and torn into pieces
  • 3 eggs, divided
  • 1 teaspoon teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup (4-ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chipotle in adobo, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
  • 1 bottle Spray oil
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine bread pieces with 1 beaten egg; allow bread to soak up egg. Add ground beef, salt, pepper, cheddar and chipotle. Hand mix to combine all ingredients; refrigerate.
  2. Set up three bowls for breading. One with flour, one with 2 beaten eggs and milk, and one with crushed tortilla chips.
  3. Portion beef blend into 12 pieces, forming each into a small football shape. Bread each by dredging in flour, coating in egg mixture then rolling in crushed tortilla chips.
  4. Set air fryer to 400°F. Working in two batches, spray each popper evenly with spray oil and space evenly in air fryer. Fry 6 minutes, flip each, air fry an additional 6 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (using an internal read thermometer).
