Border Burger

Serves 6
Incredible flavor in this must-make Borger Burger recipe. Homemade Southwestern black bean and corn salsa is what really makes this burger outstanding.
  • 3 pounds Certified Angus Beef ® ground chuck
  • 1/2 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup frozen corn, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons chopped green chilies
  • 3 teaspoons adobo seasoning
  • 3/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • 6 hearty hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup chipotle flavored mayonnaise, or to taste
  • 2 avocadoes, sliced
  1. Preheat grill. Combine black beans, corn, green chilies, adobo, cumin, chili powder and salt; set aside.
  2. Portion ground chuck into 8-ounce patties. Grill to desired doneness. Top each with 2 tablespoons grated cheese and close grill lid to melt cheese slightly.
  3. To assemble, spread 1 tablespoon chipotle mayonnaise on each bun and top with burger, 1 1/2 tablespoons bean and corn mixture, and 3 to 4 avocado slices.
