Serves 6
Steak Salad Martini is an impressive appetizer for a special gathering. The lemon vodka dressing adds zing to steak, bacon, blue cheese, and greens in a martini glass.
  • 1 pound Certified Angus Beef ® flank steak
  • 3 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 5 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon minced shallots
  • 6 tablespoons citrus flavored vodka
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 ounces baby lettuce mix
  • 3 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 ounces toasted almond slivers
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup Roma tomatoes, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Combine wine, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, mustard, vegetable oil and basil. Place flank steak and marinade in shallow glass dish and marinate 6 hours in refrigerator.
  2. Remove steak from marinade and discard marinade; grill steak to desired doneness. Let rest 10 minutes while covered. Cut into small cubes; set aside.
  3. Prepare salad dressing by whisking together shallots, vodka, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.
  4. To assemble, place 1 ounce greens in each glass. Top with steak, blue cheese, bacon, almonds, onion and tomatoes in small rows. Drizzle with dressing.
