Poblano pepper, chili powder, and paprika add a spicy kick to sweet BBQ plum sauce. Make this easy recipe for a deeply flavored barbecue sauce perfect for ribs and burgers.

Ingredients:
1 yellow onion, small dice
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 (25 ounce) can whole tomatoes
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon molasses
2 plums, diced
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 smoked poblano pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a large saucepan, sweat onion in oil. Add paprika, chili powder, salt and pepper. Cook 5 minutes to let flavors infuse completely.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low heat for 2 hours.
Remove from heat and purée in blender. Adjust seasoning and pass through a screen for a smooth sauce ready to serve with your favorite
