Miso Marinated Steak

Miso is a traditional Japanese condiment that provides generous umami. Combine with garlic, ginger and vinegar, and you have a tangy punch of flavor that doesn’t overpower a great steak.

  • 4 Certified Angus Beef ® New York strip steaks
  • 2 tablespoons white (or red) miso paste
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 teaspoon grated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  1. In a small mixing bowl combine miso, water, garlic, ginger, salt and vinegar; whisk to combine.
  2. Rub each steak with about a tablespoon of the marinade, cover and refrigerate overnight, up to 24 hours.
  3. Preheat grill to medium high. Grill steaks for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until steaks reach 125°F internal temperature for medium rare. Rest steaks 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
