Air Fryer Jalapeño Beef Poppers with Honey Lime Cream Sauce

Deliciously easy finger food or party appetizer, cooked in the air fryer for easy cleanup. Jalapeño Beef Poppers are crispy on the outside and filled with ground chuck, cheddar cheese, and fresh jalapeños. Served with an easy Honey Lime Cream Sauce.

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound Certified Angus Beef ® ground chuck, 80% lean
  • 6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 jalapeños, seeded and minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole mustard seeds
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons minced cilantro
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • Spray oil for cooking
Instructions:
  1. Combine ground chuck, cheese, jalapeños, salt, pepper and mustard seeds in a large mixing bowl. Portion by hand into 24 football shaped balls, approximately 1-ounce each; refrigerate.
  2. Prepare dipping sauce. In a small bowl whisk together sour cream, lime juice and zest, honey, and cilantro; set aside.
  3. Crack and whisk eggs; put in a shallow dish. Combine bread crumbs and put in a second shallow dish.
  4. Prepare air fryer by turning heat to 400°F. Rolls poppers in flour, 6 to 8 at a time, dusting off excess before rolling in egg mix. Transfer and roll in bread crumbs; repeat with all poppers and spray each with cooking oil.
  5. Working in batches of 6 to 8; air fry 4 minutes, turn each popper over and air fry another 4 minutes. Keep warm on a sheet pan in oven set to low. Serve warm with Honey Lime Cream Sauce for dipping.
