Wasabi Rubbed Tenderloin Roast

Serves 6-8

Tenderloin roast coated with wasabi, roasted to perfection, and served with wasabi cream sauce. Delight your guests with this easy roast beef recipe with a special flavor kick.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (3-pound) Certified Angus Beef ® tenderloin roast
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons coarse black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon prepared wasabi paste
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 cup crème fraiche or sour cream
  • Roasting pan fitted with rack

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Season tenderloin roast with salt and pepper. In a small mixing bowl, combine wasabi, mustard and honey. Coat tenderloin with 2 tablespoons of wasabi blend. Stir crème fraiche into the bowl with remaining wasabi blend; refrigerate for serving.
  3. Line bottom of roasting pan with foil; top with rack and tenderloin. Roast 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325°F and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 125°F for medium rare.
  4. Remove roast from oven, tent with foil and allow to rest 10 minutes. Slice and serve with reserved wasabi cream sauce.
