John F. Stika, Ph.D.


As president for the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, John Stika guides grassroots programs to deliver premium beef from family farmers and ranchers to consumers’ dinner tables. He has led the brand through 11 consecutive years of record sales, helping to satisfy growing demand for great-tasting beef in 17,000 restaurants and grocery stores worldwide.

John grew up on a small, family farm in Kansas, and earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Kansas State University, and a doctorate in meat science from the University of Kentucky. He came to the brand in February 1999 as director of feeder-packer relations, and then director of packing and supply development. Moving on to vice president of business development, he led sales growth through retail, foodservice, international and value-added products before becoming president.

Through his expertise and experience from gate to plate, John has served as a board member of the American Meat Science Association, and is actively engaged in beef quality and related committees of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. John received the Outstanding Young Alumnus award in 2010 from K-State’s College of Agriculture and the Achievement award from the American Meat Science Association. He resides with his wife, Deanna, and their three sons in Creston, Ohio, where they care for a small herd of Angus cattle and other livestock.

Chris Hogan


Chris Hogan might have been the most unlikely person to become a financial speaker and the author of a No. 1 bestseller, “Retire Inspired.” Why? Years ago, Chris was an All-American college football player who pushed future NFL players all over the field – far removed from the world of helping others find financial peace.

For Chris, the path from football was a long, meaningful journey. While he was a vice president of a well-respected company, helping clients manage all phases of their businesses, he realized how many families, marriages and children were being affected by money issues. He felt powerless as he sat behind his desk and watched his clients throw away their financial futures. Chris knew things needed to change.

That’s when he met Dave Ramsey and his career found a new direction. Today, Chris helps spread Dave’s message of financial hope to people everywhere. An engaging and humorous speaker, Chris is an expert on subjects like mortgages, healthcare and investing. To promote financial education, he speaks at on-site training sessions for businesses and organizations. Chris also works with high-profile clients, such as athletes, entertainers and business executives, to help them develop a financial strategy to secure their future.

Chris has had insurance licensure and banking certifications in three states. He holds an undergraduate degree from Georgetown College and a master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania. Chris lives with his wife, Melissa, and their three sons in Spring Hill, Tenn.

Jim Abbott


Through stories, anecdotes, jokes, some self-deprecation, and even failure and pain, Jim Abbott was able to overcome perceived limitations and reach his dreams. Jim is the famed, one-handed major league baseball player who overcame this birth defect to be an amazing pro pitcher and ball player. The first baseball player to win the Sullivan Award as the nation’s outstanding amateur athlete, in 1987, Jim spent hours as a youngster bouncing a ball off a wall to practice fielding and throwing.

He was the starting quarterback for his high school football team, which went to the state championship in Michigan, and he showed enough promise as a pitcher to be drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays after graduation. Jim, however, went to the University of Michigan on a baseball scholarship and had a career record of 26 wins and 8 losses.

Jim went on to play as a member of Team USA, which won a silver medal at the 1987 Pan-American Games, and he won the U.S. Baseball Federation’s Golden Spikes award as the best amateur player. In the 1988 Olympics, Jim was the winning pitcher in a 5-3 victory over Japan that brought the U.S. its first gold medal in baseball.

Chosen by the California Angels in the first round of the 1988 amateur draft, Jim went directly to the major leagues and had a 12-12 record, with a 3.92 earned run average, in 1989. In 1991, his best season to date, he went 18-11. The next few years were marked by opportunities and challenges, as Jim was traded to the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and back again. Through it all, Jim discovered the importance of adapting, persevering and removing obstacles to achieve success.

Rohit Bhargava


After a successful 15-year career as a brand and marketing strategist at two of the largest agencies in the world (Ogilvy & Mather and Leo Burnett Worldwide), Rohit Bhargava became an entrepreneur and started three companies. He is the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of five books on topics ranging from the future of business to building a brand with personality. Rohit also shares his insights at sold-out keynote presentations worldwide and with dozens of organizations, including Intel, Under Armour, Disney, American Express, NASA and Coca-Cola.

Beyond consulting, Rohit teaches a popular signature course on storytelling and marketing at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and has delivered guest lectures at many other prestigious schools. For the past 14 years, Rohit has also been writing his personal “Influential Marketing Blog,” which has been featured in global media and named one of the top 25 marketing blogs in the world by AdAge magazine. He is also regularly interviewed as an expert commentator in global media, including Harvard Business Review, The Guardian and NPR.

Rohit has been recognized alongside visionary business leaders, like Sir Richard Branson and Tom Peters, as “Top 100 Thought Leaders In Trustworthy Business Behaviour” and by global recruiting firm Korn Ferry as one of the “Most Influential South Asians In Media and Entertainment.”

On a personal level, Rohit lives with his wife and two young boys in the Washington D.C. area. He is a lifelong fan of the Olympics, actively avoids cauliflower, and believes the most entertaining and impactful job he will ever have is being a great dad and teaching his sons to be kind when no one expects it, curious about the things others take for granted and confident enough to change the world.

Randy Blach


A Colorado native, Randy Blach and his family remain actively involved in cattle ranching. He grew up on his family’s ranch in Yuma, Colo., and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in animal science. Randy received the Honor Alumni award from its College of Agricultural Sciences in 2004 and the Livestock Leader award in 2011. In 2016, he was elected into the Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame.

Randy came to CattleFax in 1981, serving as director of market analysis for 15 years and accepting his current role as CEO in 2001. During this time, he has been a keynote speaker at hundreds of cattle and beef industry conventions, meetings and seminars. Focused on helping cattle producer members sustain their businesses through profitable marketing and management decisions, Cattle-Fax is marking 50 years in 2018 as the cattle and beef industry leader on timely marketing information, analyses and research.

Randy’s wife, Karen, is a retired schoolteacher. Their son, Ty, plays for the San Francisco Giants baseball team, and their daughter, Haylee, attends Creighton University in Omaha and competes in soccer. Randy and his family enjoy spending time together at sporting events and at their ranch in eastern Colorado.

All conference events are reserved for our partners and adult guests. If you plan to bring your family, please visit the hotel website for children’s activities.

Need to cancel?
Event registration, guest registration, golf and snorkeling tour fees cannot be refunded for cancellations received after Sept. 8, 2018; however, your registration is transferrable to another employee from your company.
