Arlen Sawyer believes it would be difficult to get up in the morning if he didn’t take pride in his work. The Sawyers own A & B Cattle in Nebraska’s Northern Sandhills – in a county with a population of 1,600.
“I was born into the Angus business,” Arlen says. His parents and grandparents were Angus breeders and it was only natural that he follows their lead. “If I didn’t, I couldn’t have gone home at Christmas,” he jokes.
Arlen and wife, Becky, raised a family on the ranch and through the years, they’ve worked diligently to grow high-quality cattle that meet the Certified Angus Beef ® brand’s quality standards. “I like what I do. It gives me a feeling of obligation to do things as well as I can.”
Arlen says because the bar is set high, the beef industry is at a point where quality is the norm, not the exception. “There’s nothing that tastes better than a grilled rib steak,” he says. “We try to produce beef that gives consumers a ‘celebration in taste’.”
The Certified Angus Beef ® brand is brought to you by the American Angus Association ® and the proud cattlemen and women, like Arlen and Becky Sawyer, who are committed to producing only the best beef.
