Sitz Angus Ranch

Jim, Bob and Donna

Sitz Angus Ranch is one of the largest Angus purebred ranches in America. The Sitz family purchased their first Angus cattle in 1923. Four generations and 85 years later, they remain dedicated to the cattle and the land on which they graze.

The Sitz family’s Montana ranches are nestled in picturesque “Big Sky” country. The heart of the Sitz Ranch, in Harrison, Mont., expanded in 1997 when the family purchased two other ranches near Dillon, Mont.

Jim Sitz, who manages the operation with his brother, Bob, believes the family’s commitment to quality is imperative for the next generation. “You know, there is a whole list of things that we can do to better ourselves and our cattle,” Jim says. “We have to stay ahead of the game and raise the best quality cattle we can. I have four kids – I want the legacy to continue.”

The family matriarch agrees. “There’s nothing better than knowing you’re raising the type of beef that is good for the plate,” says Donna. “That is the ultimate goal: to provide wholesome, nutritious meat for the table.”

The Certified Angus Beef ® brand is raised by farmers and ranchers, like the Sitz family, who are dedicated to producing the best Angus beef.
