Mark and Beth Moxley, along with their two boys Stewart and Thomas, live on a family farm in West Friendship, Md .Mark's ancestors came to Maryland in the 1730's and over the years have raised all types of cattle, both beef and dairy. But for the last 35 years, the family has been exclusively in the Angus cattle business and operates as Majestic Meadows.
“I guess it’s in our blood, it’s our way of life,” Mark shares of the family legacy. “I’m the ninth generation, my boys are the 10th. It’s what we do and what we believe in.”
Mark admits family farms can be tricky, but one thing remains constant – Angus cattle. His parents continue to have their own operation, Dawn Acres Angus. One sister is a veterinarian. Mark’s brother and his family enjoy showing Angus cattle. Another sister lives on the farm, helping out their father, and is a full-time employee. "But, it is currently Stewart, Thomas, Beth and I that have a majority of the cattle and are in the purebred Angus business."
The Moxleys know their product will make its way to a dinner table, and they want it to be a great eating experience. “Every restaurant I’m in or chance I get, I pitch the Certified Angus Beef ® brand. It means the most consistent, highest-quality product available on the market,” he says.
The Certified Angus Beef ® brand is raised by family-owned farms and ranches, like Majestic Meadows, dedicated to producing the best beef.
