Scott Popovic, a cum laude graduate of the prestigious Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, S.C., has prepared great food in fine restaurants and shares his talents with both his peers and consumers.
Popovic is well known and respected in the culinary world, particularly in his native Northeast Ohio. He came to the Certified Angus Beef ® brand with experience at some of Cleveland's finest establishments: XO Restaurant and Bar, Moxie, Ritz-Carlton, and most recently, Fire Food and Drink. Before coming to Cleveland, Popovic cooked at N9NE in Las Vegas' Palms Casino, Aureole at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and Magnolia's in Charleston, S.C.
As corporate chef for the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, he shares product information, preparation tips and recipes with consumers at events, food shows and media appearances. He also works with chefs to put research-based knowledge to work in their kitchens through innovative and profitable meal solutions.
Popovic has cooked with many now-famous celebrity chefs: Doug Katz, Michael Symon, Charlie Palmer and Jonathan Bennett, to name a few. He has also presented at the notable James Beard House in New York City (an honor given to only the world's best and most exciting chefs), taught hands-on cooking classes and appeared often on television and radio shows.
"Cooking is fun," he says. "I want to show people how much fun it can be, especially with the helpful tips I've learned in restaurant kitchens."
Popvic's love for food came from his grandmother.
"I began helping her in the kitchen when I was very young and learned to try my own ideas," he said. "Whenever I'm in the kitchen, it brings those days to mind."
These days, he shares his kitchen at home with his wife, Angela, a pastry chef.
